As a honeymoon destination Cyprus has crystal blue seas and sandy beaches for total relaxation or mountainous areas for more active couples. The compact size of the island also means it's easy to combine both types of holiday on one trip.
The south western coastal resort of Paphos is one of the island's most popular with honeymooners. One of the prettiest spots in town is the old harbour, where you will find tavernas serving classic mezze dishes at outside tables as the sun sets. Paphos was also an important Roman site and the impressive mosaics are well worth a visit.
At the eastern end of Cyprus, Ayia Napa has a reputation as a party town. Head to the old part of town for a huge selection of clubs and bars where you can dance until the early hours of the morning. If you prefer things a little quieter, the neighbouring resort of Protaras has the same beautiful sandy beaches but with a more relaxed atmosphere. Ayia Napa's WaterWorld park is a great day out, especially in warmer months.
One of the prettiest villages on the north coast of Cyprus, Latchi is a former fishing village which offers a relaxed honeymoon destination. The beach doesn't get as crowded as other parts of the island and you can take your pick from dozens of beachside restaurants all serving freshly caught fish. Latchi also offers great diving.
