Beach Holidays in Devon

Lying within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Salcombe is very pretty. Its estuary location makes it ideal for water sports of all kinds while its sandy beaches are great for traditional seaside fun.

With almost two miles of golden sand, it is no surprise that Westward Ho! attracts kitesurfers, but the beach's waves are also good for surfers and windsurfers. Climbing nearby Kipling Tors will allow you to take in the panoramic sweep of the beach. The nearby Royal North Devon Golf Club is the oldest golf club in England and Wales, and is known for its use of natural features.

Widely regarded as one of the UK's best surfing beaches, Croyde also has plenty of other attractions. Beach volleyball is particularly popular. The nearby village has attractive thatched, colour-washed cottages, and is a good place to enjoy a Devon cream tea.

With a sandy beach that is so long it rarely feels overcrowded, this is a fun choice for families with children. ​ As well as making sandcastles or splashing in the waves, you can visit an original Victorian pier with arcade games. Nearby attractions include crazy golf, a play park, a skate park and plenty of ice cream sellers.

Consisting of two beaches sheltered by a large headland, Hope Cove is a lovely place to spend a day. As well as plenty of sand, both beaches have a number of rock pools to occupy amateur naturalists of any age.
