  • 1. Torquay

Torquay is the foremost town of the English Riviera. There visitors can soak up the sun at the Blue Flag Oddicombe Beach, which also includes the Babbacombe Cliff Railway. Babbacombe Model Village is a great model village attraction with an amazing 4D cinema. The restored Torre Abbey monastery is perhaps the most notable historic venue in Torquay and includes a museum which displays historic items from the abbey and paintings.

  • 2. Plymouth

Plymouth, on the county's southern coast, is the largest city in Devon. The grassy expanse of Plymouth Hoe provides visitors with breathtaking coastal views and there you can climb Smeaton's Tower or go swimming in the Tinside Lido. Plymouth visitors can take a tour of the 17th century Royal Citadel coastal fortress. The Plymouth Gin Distillery also provides group tours of its historic distillery. As a brief excursion trip from Plymouth, you can check out the Dartmoor national park.

  • 3. Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is a resort town on the north coast of Devon with numerous beaches. There you can take a paddle at the tidal pool of Tunnels Beach, which is a Blue Flag beach connected by tunnels.
