  1. Cairo and the Pyramid of Khufu

    Visit the Mummy Room in Cairo's Egyptian Museum to whet children's appetites for a visit to nearby Giza. For an unforgettable adventure, head to the Pyramid of Khufu on camel or donkey back. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing - something fact-finding youngsters will love. Budding cryptologists can try and decode its intricate hieroglyphics.

  2. Hurghada and the Red Sea Coast

    Hurghada is the main resort on the Red Sea coast and home to family-friendly all-inclusive hotels which offer clubs and activities for all ages. Teenagers can learn to dive, and your youngest will love snorkelling among shoals of colourful fish. The desert that flanks the resorts is home to ancient rock art and monasteries, as well as a national park.

  3. Luxor for a Nile cruise

    All youngsters enjoy the experience of cruising the Nile on a traditional felucca, maybe giving the crew a hand en route. Take a cruise from Luxor, visiting Esna and Kom Ombo before finishing at Aswan. Sail gently along, catching a glimpse of traditional village life.

  4. Aswan

    Famous for its dam which is an awe-inspiring sight in itself, Aswan is also home to The Philae Temples, which were carefully moved in the 1960s to protect them when the dam was built. The island where the temple now stands is said to be where Osiris was buried. Children will enjoy the boat ride to the temple and once there can have fun playing hide and seek among the columns.

  5. Karnak

    The building at Karnak was the largest religious temple ever built, with a site that covers over 200 acres. Although most of it is in ruins, children only need a little imagination to see how awesome it must have been in its heyday more than 2,000 years ago.
