Make memories at Wildwood Stables, a traditional stable where you can join tours via horse-drawn carriage like in the old days, or even bring your own horse to the letting stalls. Grab a kayak or canoe and scoot around Schoodic Peninsula from Mount Desert Island, or just chill out on its beaches. There are three main ones; the aptly named Sand Beach, Echo Lake Beach (with the warmest water for swimmers), and Seal Harbor Beach, dotted with yachts. Mont Cadillac

If you want to be the first person in the United States to see the morning sun, come here October 7th through March 6th. Cadillac is the highest point on the North Atlantic seaboard, one of twenty mountains created by the earth's tectonic plates millions of years before humans first traversed their slopes.

Thunder Hole

Another gem of Acadia National Park, the gigantic crashes of white waves that erupt at Thunder Hole make a sound like distant thunder. Water splashes as high as 40 feet in the air.

Start your exploration of Arcadia National Park with a trip to the Visitor Centre, which guides you among the many attractions and delights of the park. Select from the immense array of activities and awe-inspiring hiking trails that await you in Acadia Park.

Asticou Azalea Garden

Aflame with colours throughout the year, these landscaped gardens are lush with azaleas, flowering cherry trees, iris and rhododendrons. The Lantern Stroll on July 20th illuminates the garden with Japanese floating lanterns and good cheer, to traditional koto music.

Otter Cliffs

Near Thunder Hole, you'll find the Otter Cliffs, one of the tallest headlands to the north of Rio de Janeiro. Just off the cliff is the striking Monument Cove, a crescent of land encircling the clear water where the rock faces turn gold in the evening light.
