These amazing hothouses are home to more than 700 species of animals and plants, including Goeldi's monkeys, armadillos and two-toed sloths. Things to do in and around Berkshire

For a stunning example of 19th c. Georgian architecture, visit Windsor Castle, the world's biggest inhabited castle and one of the British Royal Family's main residences. The castle is surrounded by the elegant Windsor Great Park, which includes 5000 acres of woods, parkland, paths and gardens to enjoy.

One of Berkshire's other great estates is Highclere Castle near Newbury, which is familiar to millions as the backdrop to the television series Downton Abbey. And don't forget to visit central London's iconic sights which are only 40 min away by train from Reading station.
