Over 400 years of history at Bushmills Distillery

The distillery in the centre of Bushmills has been producing whiskey for over 400 years, and is Ireland's oldest. Tours run regularly for people ages 8 and over, although the kids won't be able to partake in the sampling of the finished products. There's also a large gift shop – perfect for souvenirs to take home – and a café selling snacks and simple meals, as well as tea, coffee, and scones.

Beaches and all the fun of the fair

Antrim's beaches are some of the UK's finest, and the miles of sand at Whiterocks and Portstewart Strand are ideal for sandcastle building, kite flying, paddling, and simply having fun. The traditional seaside town of Portrush has a funfair that's been entertaining children for generations, and a little further is Portstewart, where Morelli's ice cream parlour sells fabulous sundaes and homemade cakes.

Causeway Coast attractions all close at hand

Bushmills accommodation is less than five minutes' drive from the coast, and close to some of the most famous visitor attractions Northern Ireland has to offer. A visit to the area wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Giant's Causeway, where you can explore the history and legend of the area in the visitor centre at the top of the cliffs, and walk down the winding path to the famous basalt columns –hop on the bus to save your legs on the walk back up to the car park! Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, not for the fainthearted, provides stunning views over to Scotland, and Dunluce Castle's dramatic position perched on cliffs is hard to beat.
