Credit Island

Named for its former identity as an American Indian trading post, Credit was once represented by the promise of hides and skins to be delivered at a later date. Its community park, sports fields, and golf course are listed in the Davenport Register of Historic Properties and played host to a battle in 1812 between the Sauk Indians and a British regiment, recorded by Black Hawk.
