Hereford Cathedral

Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibition

The Mappa Mundi, a unique medieval treasure, is housed at Hereford Cathedral. Believed to have been made at around 1300, this map shows what medieval scholars believed the world to look like at the time, centring on Jerusalem, the heart of Christianity.

The Chained Library is the largest and best preserved of its kind in the world and includes 1500 books dating as far back as 800AD and up to the 19th century.

Berrington Hall

This National Trust building consists of a manor house, landscape garden, parkland and lake, and it dates back to the 1700s. There are always historical displays presenting how the house would have looked like in its hey-day, and for families there is an outdoor play area, lawn mazes, woodland walks and the chance to get hands-on with the historical displays.

Makers of award-winning spirits, Chase Distillery give you the chance to see how their product is made, from field to bottle. They will then invite you to their own Chase Bar to give you a lesson in how to really appreciate quality spirits.

The Old House

The Old House museum is a fine, well-preserved example of a 17th century timber-framed house. Built in 1621, it is now furnished with period style aesthetics to give you a real feel of the era. Kids can get involved, with costumes and puzzles.
