Colourful Festivals

Holi is the festival of colours and is celebrated countrywide with everyone gathering in the streets in a riotous explosion of colour to rejoice in good over evil. October sees Navratri, a celebration for the goddess Devi where statues are taken to the holy waters of the Ganges.

The happiest of all the festivals must surely be Diwali. In October, thousands of lights in windows, temples and houses sparkle as friends and families come together to jubilate in light over darkness.
