Step outside your Lindos apartment and discover a wealth of cultural attractions. The ancient acropolis is one of the highlights of the medieval town, along with the restored Temple of Lindian Athena and Kleoboulous's Tomb. If you're an architecture buff in particular, it's worth popping into the Church of the Assumption. The iconography and opulent decorations are quite magnificent.

The Old Town is made up of a collection of small streets in a maze-like formation. They can be a little tricky to navigate, so it's worth picking up a free map from the town's tourist information office. They'll also be able to give you some additional information about the local landmarks.

Exploring beyond Lindos

Heading a little farther afield from your Lindos accommodation, you'll discover wider Rhodes and all it has to offer. Rhodes City is an excellent choice for those seeking a cosmopolitan day trip. In addition to its Old Town and Gothic architecture, it has a pretty port with bars and restaurants, and plenty of shops to keep you busy.

Head inland to Asklipio if you want to experience authentic Rhodes at its best. This tiny village, complete with a castle and a church, is an excellent representation of rural Greece set amidst some of the prettiest scenery on the island. If surfing is your passion, the waves of Gennadi are sure to satisfy along with the unspoilt stretches of glorious coastline.
