Useful information for your visit to London Bridge Station
Wander through the old City of London and you'll see many of the most famous sights in town.

1. Tower Bridge
Built in the 19th century, the towers on either side of this gorgeous drawbridge make it one of London's most recognisable landmarks. Walk across it and admire the incredible craftsmanship of the bridge, or stand back and take a photo when it rises to let boats through.

2. St Paul's Cathedral
See where Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married, in the best-known house of worship in the city. You can walk around it for free, admiring the artwork and stunning domed ceiling.

3. The Shard
Europe's tallest building lets you race up the express elevator to floor 72, where you'll get superb panoramic views from the observation platform. This is also a fantastic setting for a cocktail or two, or a romantic dinner with a magnificent backdrop.

4. The Gherkin
Officially known as 30 St Mary Axe, this uniquely shaped building is another of London's great modern sights. Book a table at the champagne bar on the 42nd floor or just admire this beautiful construction and the surrounding skyscrapers in the City.
Best things to do near London Bridge Station
There's loads to do a little further afield. Head to Southbank for the food and book markets, or up to Covent Garden for more great shopping and culture.

This is one of the UK's premier music venues, which specialises in classical music but also big-name rock and pop performances. Head to the food market on the weekend or the book market every day, for world cuisine and a treasure trove of literature.

A selection of chic boutiques in a covered shopping area, with inspiring surroundings for al fresco dining or grabbing a quick pint. Check out the street performers or browse the many independent art galleries based here.

3. Shakespeare's Globe
Where better to catch a play in the city? There's a constantly changing programme of performances to check out, including some specially adapted for children or foreign language speakers. The plays sometimes have a modern twist or go beyond Shakespeare with other innovative productions.

4. Tate Modern
One of the world's leading art galleries, browse the many permanent exhibitions for free or check out the amazing temporary shows. There's always an eye-popping, larger-than-life exhibit to see in the main hall, and the building, completed in 2016, is an architectural masterpiece.
