1. Routes to and from Paddington
This station mainly connects London with the West, including South Wales. Services from the Thames Valley region, Bristol and more arrive here too. The Heathrow Express also stops at Paddington, which is useful if you're flying in, while the Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City Underground lines pass through here too.

2. Key Services
As well as toilets, including accessible services and baby changing stations, there are showers available for refreshing yourself after a long trip. There are also lost property and left luggage services at Paddington. There's a car park here if you're being picked up, and bicycle racks available near platforms 8, 9, 10 and 11. The reception, for any general enquiries, is located close to platform 1.

Pick up anything you've forgotten for your trip right here in the station: cosmetics from Boots, books and magazines from WHSmith, and much more. There are also plenty of places to eat, including restaurants and casual cafés, as well as bars for a quick drink.

1. Hyde Park
This is one of the official Royal Parks of London, and is an excellent place to wander round on sunny days. Check out seasonal events like the ever-popular Winter Wonderland in December while there are plenty of concerts and music festivals held here too.

2. Selfridges
Right on the western end of Oxford Street, near the Marble Arch landmark, you'll find this superb department store. With its high street and designer brands, you could spend all day browsing its nine floors. This is also a great place to shop for electronics, perfume and special gifts.

3. Little Venice
So called because of its resemblance to the beautiful Italian city, you'll fall in love with the smart architecture and pretty canals lining this well-to-do neighbourhood. Stop for a coffee at one of the independent cafés and see a part of London too often overlooked by visitors.

Another nearby hidden gem, this is a collection of fine arts, furniture and antiques set in a beautiful building focusing on the treasures of Europe and beyond. Works by Velázquez and Rembrandt are among the highlights on display here.
