Bob Sikes Cut

This shipping route to Apalachicola Bay separates St George Island from the mainland. A bridge was constructed in 1965 at which time the island began to become more developed. It is an unparalleled spot for fishing trout and bass or for a little shelling on the beach. As you look out, you may just see dolphins playing in the cut.

Cape of St. George Island

The Cape is another brilliant fishing spot for those so inclined. Its white, wide beaches are populated by cardinals, bluffs, and marine forest. It's one of the best places on the island for stargazing by the fire and, indeed, watching the miniature, arrow-head shaped sea turtles emerge from their shells and struggle up the beach.
