Don't miss the church at Agios Ioannis which sits atop an outcrop of rock overlooking an idyllic beach. Evangelisimos was constructed in 1712 whereas the foundations of Sotiris were laid in the 16th century. Make sure you see the abandoned monasteries of Taxiarches and Anna, with their spectacular views of the archipelago. Nothing but the sound of bleating goat herds interrupts the tranquil silence.

Coastal walks and beachcombing

Explore the airy coastline, with its exquisite coastal villages and valleys filled with olive trees. Fragrant bourgainvillea hangs lushly from the old houses and picturesque beaches are perfect for lounging and topping up your tan. Kastani Beach is deservedly popular but there are many other pristine sandy stretches to discover.

Linonari Beach is embraced by a rocky headland making it a protected spot that is ideal for familes. Meanwhile Stafylos's crystal clear water is a serene place in which to snorkel.
