Located at the mouth of the Dart river, Kingswear Castle has held guard for almost five hundred years. Today this delightful secluded town is the endpoint of the Dartmouth Steam Railway. It was the location in which 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' amongst other period dramas was filmed.

Burgh Island

A privately owned 11 hectare tidal island 24 km from Plymouth, Burgh is an oasis of rocky coves, bird colonies and medieval ruins. The Pilchard Inn on the island dates from the 14th Century.

Bantham

Bantham beach is considered one of the best destinations for surfing in Devon and it is also a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The panoramic views from the beach include Burgh Island. Kids will love exploring the rockpools at low tide.
