Today, the original baths are below street level, and encompass four main areas: the Roman Bath House, Roman Temple, Sacred Spring, and an area showing finds from the historic site. Exhibits bring the area to life and explain the function of public baths in Roman times. The Great Bath is the star attraction here, while the original changing rooms and saunas are certainly different to what you'd find in a modern pool.

While the site itself is no longer used for bathing and swimming, it's possible to get a drink from the Spa Water Fountain and taste its unique composition. Using modern water treatment methods, it's a must-do experience on your visit, and a perfect place to pose for a photo during your visit.

You can opt for a tour to see all the hidden nooks and crannies around the various chambers, and get a full understanding of what you're looking at. There are also audio guides available if you'd like to walk around independently but still get further insight into the Roman Baths. There's site also houses a restaurant and shop, specialising in bath-related souvenirs.

A striking example of Gothic Revival architecture, this site has contained a convent since the 7th century. Its fan vaulted ceiling, twin organs, and incredibly intricate façade explain why it's such an admired building.

This probably isn't what you're imagining. The Circus is one of Bath's most beautiful residential streets, with sublime terraced houses arranged in a circle. It was built in the 18th century and contains an interior park. It's well worth seeing for its unusual and attractive design.
