Hotels near Waterloo

Waterloo is the terminus station for many popular routes around the South West of England in particular. Trains connecting Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight arrive here, as well as key routes from Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire. For connecting to the rest of London, the Bakerloo, Northern, Jubilee and Waterloo and City Underground lines stop at Waterloo.

Cash machines and currency exchange points are available in the station, the latter being opposite platform 9 on the concourse. Close to exit 6 (the Southbank exit) is Excess Baggage Co, where you can leave your luggage. There are also toilets (including accessible facilities) and baby changing services available.

There is a wide range of food outlets (including supermarkets), cafés, shops and bars right in the station. Nearby Spur Road has car rental services available, which are especially useful if you're planning trips outside of London. There's a nearby APCOA car park, as well as free bicycle racks and plenty of 'Boris Bike' rental points close to here.

Check out the UK's biggest cinema screen and enjoy those epic blockbusters in the ultimate way. This is an audio and visual extravaganza, so you shouldn't miss the chance to see a film here at least once.

Home to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, this is one of the most famous areas in the country. Tour the inside of the Palace of Westminster and see how the House of Commons and House of Lords work. The buildings themselves are stunning, too.

Learn about Britain's role in both World Wars and beyond. There are plenty of fantastic exhibitions including Curiosities of War, which looks at some of the less obvious items involved in major conflicts around the globe. Pleasingly, entry to the museum is free for everyone.

One of the city's most famous playhouses, the Old Vic has existed since 1818 and has been a leader in not-for-profit theatre for generations. Check the current programme to see what's on, or be sure to at least see this iconic building while staying nearby.
