Great April Holidays to Discover

Spring is a wonderful time for a holiday, to shake off those winter cobwebs and enjoy  warmer weather and longer days. Why not try some of these destinations for a break you won't forget? Whether you're looking forward to culture aplenty in the Dutch capital, want to give the kids a total treat at Disneyland, or are tempted by sunnier climes in North Africa, any of these destinations will offer an unforgettable April getaway.

The Best Destinations for a Holiday in April

Dig out your passport to enjoy the enlivening experience of new cultural experiences, sunshine, great food, and entertainment aplenty. Or perhaps you prefer a break on home shores, in which case there are some great April holiday options right at home in the UK. If you're going with the later, be sure to pack a mac, just in case!

  • Amsterdam

Enjoy the famous tulips, canals, Dutch Easter celebrations, art galleries, museums, and wonderful 'gezellig' (cosy) atmosphere of this compact and cosmopolitan city, which looks particularly beautiful in the spring sunshine.

  • Disneyland

Paris Hop on the Eurostar to enjoy a quick break at this family favourite, with plenty of great deals around, especially if you can travel on a flexible basis. You'll love the attractions, rides, parades, and excellent quality of food and accommodation.

  • Agadir, Morocco

Just four hours away by plane and with average April temperatures of 21°C, nine hours of sunshine a day, and fantastic beaches, this is a great choice if you are craving some sunshine. Souks, golfing, swimming in the sea, superb food, and plenty of leisure activities are all on offer in abundance. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also turn your Moroccan April holidays into a bit of tour, and get over to Marrakech or Essaouira.

  • The Lake District

Grab your bike and your hiking shoes and enjoy an active break in beautiful Cumbria. The views are magnificent and there is plenty to do, with towns and villages such as Keswick and Ambleside well worth a visit. Look forward to excellent food in the many local gastropubs, too. Overall, this is an excellent destination for travellers fond of walking.

  • The Peak District

Book one of the wonderful barn renovations or a bed and breakfast accommodation, and treat yourself to a slice of the good life in the rolling dales of Derbyshire. Be sure to check out both the White Peak and Dark Peak areas, with the latter characterised by moorlands. Book a spa day, see spring lambs, visit the stunning Chatsworth House, and wander around Buxton and Bakewell, remembering to enjoy a slice of the areas's famous tart.
