However, before anyone rushes onto the Yeti, they tend to take some time to warm up on the Marmotte. One of the best laid out runs in France, the Marmotte includes gentle stretches and fast patches. It's the kind of piste that lets intermediates find themselves before heading onto the real thing and is always an enjoyable slope to tackle.
Les Gets isn't St Anton, with an endless party cycle. Instead, it's more of a laid back village, but that doesn't make it boring. There are about six excellent bars in town, including the inevitable Irish pub, a great tapas joint, and even a Bowling Bar, where pins replace pistes while skiers unwind.
The final thing to know about Les Gets is that few resorts are more user-friendly. All of the cable cars are within easy reach of the main accommodation. The village is small, and everything skiers need is there. And the transfer from Geneva is relatively quick, which is a huge bonus for people who can't wait to throw themselves down the Yeti.
