One of England’s more underrated cities, Lincoln provides insights into the country’s history at every turn. Once a Roman settlement, there are Tudor, Viking, Saxon, and Norman influences in its cobbled streets and medieval architecture. Today, Lincoln is a quaint city break destination with a variety of comfortable accommodation. Choose from houses, apartments, or even yurts perfect for exploring the castle, cathedral and everything else the city to offer.
What a fabulous location! You step out of the front door right onto the little street that leads up to the cathedral and castle, and you have great museums either round the corner or just on the other side of the castle. We parked our car on arrival and didn’t touch it again till we left 4 days later. There is also a Tesco nearby downhill in the shopping area, and lots of interesting walks around the old part of Lincoln. On arrival, we were thrilled to find such a welcome pack! There was bread, butter, biscuits and chocolate, along with milk, and a bottle of Cava in the fridge. Wonderful. Having said that, it is a lovely cottage in a great location! Thank you Jill.
