From the elevated location of this Skye cottage there are southerly views across to the Isle of Raasay and the mountains of the mainland. Immaculately-presented throughout, this Skye cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends who will appreciate the excellent central location of the cottage which is ideal for exploring the whole island. There are two bright and spacious bedrooms, one double and a twin with a fabulous en-suite shower room. The open plan living accommodation in this Skye cottage is dominated by the picture window overlooking the loch and is a very sociable and welcoming area. The bespoke fitted kitchen/dining room is very well equipped and a perfect place for enjoying a meal with family and friends. At the front of this Skye cottage there is space to sit and enjoy the views and sunsets. With the capital town of the island, Portree, just 12 miles to the north and the second main centre of population, Broadford, just 13 miles to the south, you are never far from excellent shopping facilities. Close by is a hotel, renowned locally for its high-quality cuisine and friendly small bar. With this lovely Portree cottage being centrally located, you can travel south to the Sleat peninsula known as the garden of Skye and visit Armadale Castle or travel north up to Portree and tour the dramatic coastal road around the top of the island. Skye is a big island, full of wonderful scenery, an abundance of wildlife and lots of history. Whether you walk up the Cuillins, or languish on a quiet beach, you will love to return to the comfort of your Skye cottage at the end of a busy day. Note: This property is approx. 100 yards from Ref. 912924, together they sleep 10.
The charming town of Portree, set around its natural harbour on the ruggedly beautiful Isle of Skye, boasts a wide range of shops, hotels and restaurants amongst its winding streets. This quiet, tranquil town offers a large variety of cultural attractions too. The Aros Centre, with its programme of concerts, theatre and cinema is well worth visiting and sports enthusiasts will be well catered for by the wealth of sea kayaking, rock-climbing and a good choice of well-marked walks across the island. The spectacular rock formations of Trotternish Ridge stretch for miles along the thirty-one kilometres of continuous cliffs, showing widely diverse pinnacles and forms. With the imposing Dunvegan castle, and the Talisker Distillery Visitor Centre, there's something for everyone to see on this very special island.

‘My friend and I stayed in Tigh-Na-Creag in May 2016 for 1 week. We chose this place as it was quite central between Broadford and Portree and we wanted to explore the Isle of Skye. We arrived to the property and had a visit from the owner who was very pleasant and told us a few things about the property and the area. The house had everything we could need and the kitchen was very well equipped for self catering. The only one thing I would suggest updating would be the sofa/chairs in the living room as they are a little dated and could be more comfortable especially after a long day out and about. Also to make the second bedroom more usable for couples there could be a zip and link/twin bed option. Overall though it was a fab place to stay and had a lovely view out of the picture window in the living room. Highly recommended and I would book again.’

‘We had a lovely time in this cottage. We enjoyed the view out of the great widow in the living room. There was also not much noise from street nearby so we could sleep very well. From the cottage you could go to any point of the island quickly. If we come back to Skye, we will stay again there.’

‘Tigh na Creag was a fantastic base for our holiday exploring the Isle of Skye as it was very centrally located, about halfway between Broadford and Portree. The Cottage was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for the week we stayed. The owner is very friendly and visited to check that we had everything we needed and to reassure us that if we needed anything we just had to call them, which was really lovely. I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the Island and have a great central base.’

‘The location was superb, ideally suited for a day out in the hills. The cottage is warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and approachable should we have any problems - which we didn't! We have stayed before and are thoroughly looking forward to our next visit in 2017.’

‘The location of the cottage - looking out over water and hills was exactly what I was looking for to unwind. The property owner was very attentive yet unobtrusive. Skye scenery is amazing and the people on the island were friendly and kind to a solo traveller. The cottage had everything I needed and was very comfortable. I want to go again and would return to the same cottage.’

‘Great location, great view, very spacious, clean, modern interior. Very nice hosts. The living furniture could stand updating but that is the only negative thing to say about the place. We would definitely choose this spot again.’

‘The cottage was clean and tidy, well appointed and warm. It's ideally suited for exploring the Isle Of Skye, and we particularly liked the view over Loch Sligachan from the living room window. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. We have stayed in several cottages throughout Skye over the years and this is by far the best one yet, by a fair margin. It was a real treat to see Golden Eagles flying over the Loch.’

‘The bungalow is recently built by the owner who lives nearby. It is furnished to a high standard and is ideally placed to explore the whole island. The owners were welcoming and were prepared to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. In terms of the accommodation, it is difficult to fault with a bathroom and very large shower room, two pleasant bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen. Something we wish more self-catering places would do is provide a fridge/freezer as provided here.’

Very good
‘Perfectly positioned for visiting any part of the Isle of Skye. My husband and I stayed here with another couple and the cottage was ideal. Inside was more spacious than we expected. The open plan living/dining/kitchen space was great for socialising. The cottage appears to be have been built fairly recently with everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. The views from the living room are amazing - across the water to the mountains. The only negatives for us were the lack of garden (although the scenery makes up for this) and the main bathroom not having a shower so we all had to share the one in the en-suite. Otherwise it was wonderful.’
