‘Lovely host who waited for me to arrive - I forgot to notify them of my arrival and she waited until 8 pm. Then were super welcoming, showed me around in the dark and made sure I was settled and knew where everything was. Compost toilets outside every pod In the morning, I dropped my car keys and her husband spend ages helping me look for them - even though he had a lot to be getting on with. Lovely couple. 100% recommend staying there.’

‘Likes: De lokatie was perfect.

‘Likes: We loved everything! Really comfortable beds in the Beehive pod, everything we could need was provided. The hot tub was heated for us for use from 5pm, we enjoyed this after eating every single delicious item in the BBQ hamper you can purchase, this was the same for the breakfast hamper. There were even smores and extra marshmallows for the children to enjoy over the firepit as the sun went down. The field is large and enclosed which kept our dog safe, she loved having the space to explore! We would highly recommend and would hope to return in future. Annette is a very polite and helpful host:) Dislikes: Some of the cutlery and equipment were not clean for use, so we needed to wash these ourselves, not really the hosts fault, as previous occupants should leave clean for the next people.’

‘The beehive cabin was absolutely lovely! In an idyllic location in Hawick, with the town being relatively nearby. The cabin was clean and well equipped and was perfect for just two people. However, upon arrival to the cabin we discovered a buzzing alarm noise, to which we were told that it had been cloudy recently and the solar panels hadn’t gotten any sunlight to power the electricity so we had to spend our night without any electricity in the cabin, which was fine for one night, however would have caused problems for a longer stay. Candles and camp lights were provided in the cabin to help this problem. We were originally planning on using the outdoor oven which was advertised on the website, however this was dirty and looked like it hadn’t been used for a while and had no instructions on how to use, so ended up driving for a takeaway in Hawick. The outdoor toilet was as expected, however there wasn’t any toilet roll in our toilet. The hot tub was lovely and warm, giving a private space to relax, and overall making the experience for us.’

‘Likes: Annette went out of her way to welcome us, lighting up the log-fired hot tub in advance which stayed warm without a fire from 5pm until midnight (in October) and giving us guidance on Hawick (a well-equipped sizable town) only 5 minutes drive away. The Borders' scenery is excellent and our accommodation, as well as including everything for a stay for a family of 4 also had a patio and barbecue. There is an amazing amount of furniture crammed into the building but everything, including the beds was very comfortable and clean. Dislikes: Our stay was short but we found nothing to criticise.’

‘Likes: The experience of glamping, hot tub was great. Breakfast was delivered on time for us to cook and enough provided for all the family. The beehive was very sweet and had everything you needed for a stay outdoors. Dislikes: Very fussy details and not to bothered but the tap was a very slow runner (I understand it’s camping though), the hot tub centre bit could do with being weighted down as whenever you moved it would be squeaky, made it not as relaxing. Road noise more than I would like again not ruined the stay though’

‘Likes: Heel knus onderkomen.

The hot tubs are worth every penny. The owners are wonderful… polite, helpful, knowledgable and always on the other end of the phone if needed. The bee hive was so cute… it might look small in size but tbh, it was very well thought out and every inch was used well to maximise space. ‘We stayed in the Beehive for three nights during a fairly chilly and wet weekend in May with our two kids. Within the glamping site there are 5 other pods or converted Gypsy caravans in an immaculately kept grassy area. Despite the weather, we all had a wonderful time thanks to our hosts Annette and Drew. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, showed us how everything worked, brought outdoor toys for the kids and gave them the opportunity to feed lambs the next morning! The Beehive hut was very comfortable and immaculately clean with lots of thoughtful additions. In the hut there is a comfy bunkbed and a pull-out sofa, which was very comfortable, a worktop, two benches, a two-ring gas hob, and a cold water tap and small sink. There's also a gas-powered heater (which we didn't really need as the wooden hut was cosy enough), fridge and solar panels on the top for electricity. Despite there not being much sun during our stay, we still got all the power we needed for the main lights, charging phones, Kindles, switches, etc. etc. The outdoor eco toilets were very clean and there is also a communal kitchen area with a mains-powered socket. Outside of the Beehive there is a decking area with seating for dining and a bench and firepit. There is also a fantastic gas-powered barbeque oven which we had lots of fun cooking on. We tried the large wood-fired hot-tub one night with the kids. It was gloriously cosy despite it being quite cold. We all loved the novelty of it! A small hut does feel small when you're used to a 4 bed house, but it was great fun for three days. Annette and Drew, who both work really hard to keep everything running, were fantastic hosts - friendly and attentive without being in any way intrusive. We would love to go back - we'd maybe choose the bigger hut next time.’

‘Likes: We spent the last two evenings of our 14 night trip to Scotland in the lovely quaint beehive accomodation, before travelling home to the Isle of Man. Due to lack of sunshine we didn't have any electric but you are able to use a socket in the communal area for charging phones etc...Dont forget a torch. Can highly recommend the bbq and breakfast hamper and of course the large hot tub (all additional charges)... we were lucky enough to have a Barn Owl fly directly overhead on our last evening whilst we were in the hot tub. Owner was very helpful and recommended a bakery and butchers to us as we needed to stock up on some Scottish orders for other members of our family. There was an outdoor toilet a couple of steps from the beehive which was for our sole use and the nearest hot tub (and the most private) was the 6 person one rather than the smaller one. Very little light pollution so good for star gazing when not cloudy. You really need a car in the area, there is plenty of free parking a short distance from your accomodation. I think there were 5 accomodations in total all in the same field and two communal showers. We had a bbq every evening and a roaring fire and the beehive also had a kettle, two gas hobs and a fridge. Our unit was spotless and its bring your own towels and bedding (re covid) The beehive has two single bunk beds and a sofa that converts to a double bed. There is a petrol station, a short drive away, which sells kindling, wood, coals and other essentials. There are lots of big supermarkets in town. At the accomodation there is also an outdoor communal kitchen, sitting area and cooking facilities. The free bottle of prosecco (2 nights or more) was a very lovely touch. All in all we had a romantic relaxing time and would definately stay here again if we were in the area. Dislikes: There was nothing that we didn't like bar the lack of lighting but we were aware that the units are solar powered so we had plenty of torches and lamps with us and they did provide a small solar light which we were able to charge:)’

Even met the mother down the high Street and she was blathering away and advising us on places to stop off on our way home. We only stayed one night. Would have liked to stay more and hire a hot tub next time. We loved how old fashioned it was, and had a great giggle at our out door bathroom. Bbq, fire pit and table and chairs are all right at you're front door. My son, in the morning, got to feed the lambs. Also I asked the lady to help to put the fire on, the fire went up in flames and the lady was calm and put it out side. We did not get a replacement one. We were hot enough using the cooker flame. They are very attentive and very nice prople. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their wee biosness.’
