Once the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the three well-presented bedrooms resting across the first floor, comprising of a super-king-size, a double, and a single, so no matter your group type, there will be something to suit your needs. Delight in the upstairs family bathroom, with deluxe fixtures and fittings so you can enjoy a warm soak at the end of a tiring day. Step out to the enclosed garden with lawn and patio areas where you can sit with a refreshing beverage and watch the sunset. The vast fields surrounding Woodside Barn also back on to Gormire Lake, which is a beautiful walk where you are likely to spot deer, hare, various birds of prey, wild geese and even a fox or badger if you're lucky! Sutton Bank is home to one of the best bicycle and walking routes and views in North Yorkshire as well as being a great place to sit and watch the gliders take off, and if you are a lover of the great outdoors there are plenty of other trails for walking and cycling found at Cleveland Way. ‘Stayed at Woodside Barn over the Christmas period, with my wife and grand children. The property is situated in Church lane, Muggington which is a small village about 8 miles from Ashbourne in the Derbyshire dales. Downstairs is a large kitchen with all the amenities, and a large table that can easily seat 6 people. This leads to the Lounge that is spacious and has under floor heating for the cold weather. There is also a downstairs toilet and shower cubicle, and a wood burning stove which is an attractive feature. At one end of the lounge are a number of glass panel doors that open out onto an enclosed part lawn part chippings area which is ideal if you have a dog. Beyond this is a massive field where you can also walk your dog but it will need to be supervised. Upstairs are three bedrooms, and a toilet and bath room area. The place is spotlessly clean, and is in a convenient location to travel to many of the small villages in the dales or the nearby Cossington resevoir.’

‘We had no contact from the owners on arrival, and had to phone them with a query, despite the fact, we discovered later, that they lived on site. The property was clean and spacious and just what we were expecting, though I feel the description of the bathroom as "luxury" is stretching the point a bit. It is a quiet location with plenty to do within a reasonable distance, the weather was poor so we didn't get the opportunity to explore the immediate area as much as we would normally. The building work going was a bit disconcerting as it would appear the holiday accommodation is being added to, if this is the case it will give it more the feel of a holiday complex. The biggest down side for me is the proximity of the wind turbines, and I cannot believe permission was given to site these monstrous white elephants in such an area. I live in a National Park and fear for its future if these things are allowed to spread.’
