‘Likes: Great location for zip world! Dislikes: Our stay at this property was far from satisfactory. The rooms were plagued with mould, and the lack of proper cleanliness was evident. Adding to the discomfort was the disconcerting feeling of being watched by cameras aimed at the hot tub outside, creating an unwelcome atmosphere. The house was riddled with rules, contributing to an overall unpleasant experience. Furthermore, one of the bathrooms lacked hot water, leaving six adults with no choice but to share a single functioning shower. The mattresses were uncomfortably hard, and the inability to adjust the temperature made the house quite cold. Regrettably, these issues combined to create a less-ideal stay, and I cannot recommend this property to others.’

‘Likes: Quiet location and in some ways the property looked bigger that I had initially expected from the photos Dislikes: I had contacted the owner to change my e mail address for receiving key code as I had input it incorrectly and was concerned I would not be able to access the property. The owner and also the third party company I contacted did not respond, (luckily booking. com were more helpful). We booked this accommodation for a NYE get away for 2 families, before arrival we were sent a very long list of ‘rules’ which although common sense also deeply affected the enjoyment of our stay. Any ‘rules’ not followed result in a reduction to the return of your damage deposit. The hot tub use is restricted to set times, the temperature of the hot tub cannot be altered which I personally found it too cold (although the children made good use of it). There were 3 camera we noticed in the garden, all aimed at the hot tub and if you did not cover hot tub within 15 minutes of getting out they take money from damage deposit which made us all feel like we were ‘being watched’. The property was not particularly well cleaned before our arrival as we found waste and remnants of the previous occupiers stay. The radiators in the bathrooms and kitchen did not work and thermostat had been covered so it was chilly in some rooms at times and difficult to dry towels after hot tub use. Everyone found the beds/mattresses uncomfortable and I now see this has been a previous comment on a review which has gone unaddressed.’

‘We found the place stank of vomit, and found a chair upstairs with some vomit in it; which embalmed the whole first floor. Once on the upstairs toilets we found poo around the toilets at the bottom and some dry poo dripping the toilets. Furthermore, we had no towels and learnt that at the last moment (few hours before checkin). To finish, during the night the heater stopped working and there were locker around all heaters to prevent us from turning up the heat.’

‘The host went above and beyond to make our stay homey. The box of popcorn said to us, “Sit down. Be comfortable here. Watch a movie. ” And so we did just that. The sheep outside the bunk room were a fun touch for my daughter. While the town is cute, it’s scary to drive. Very narrow roads. The host did a great job of giving directions, but we still went the wrong way a couple times. Maybe that’s just us though. Overall, I think the great host and the small homey touches made the stay special.’

‘Likes: Plenty of space, good amenities, good location for visiting Snowdonia Dislikes: I have never seen so many printed out rules doted around a property before. Felt like an invasion of privacy and if operating maybe a breach of data protection. Condition of property not as good as photos.’

‘Very cosy cottage, with great hot tub. Beds were very comfortable. Lovely welcome gifts. It was quite hard to find, but we managed to eventually. Slightly disappointed that there was only one toilet and bathroom, which means that there is a wait. Floor was still wet from mopping, and took ages to dry out. Couldn’t find a bin in the kitchen, or recycling bins inside, which meant that we had to improvise. Concerned about the camera which overlooks the hot tub. Felt like it impacted on privacy. ‘Likes: The place was well equipped with amenities. The hot tub was ready when we got there. There were enough cutlery and crockery for our stay. There was a gift basket waiting for us in the kitchen. The WiFi was good. The instructions on how to get there were spot on. There were electric fans in the rooms. The place was really clean as well. There were ample parking spaces. Dislikes: There were soooo many instructions around the house. Many restrictions as well. The bbq can only be used after you've paid £15., better to just bring your own. Might just cost a fiver. The towels were locked in a chest instead of being available for use. I understand that all information was to keep the place in tip top shape but we felt too restricted and scared to have a really good time. I feel sorry for guests with toddlers who will definitely make some kind of mess as they would surely have to pay for accidental spills etc. I'm just glad that our kids are all adults so easier to manage. Even the recycling had to be our job otherwise will have to pay for the owners to take care of it. There were no bins inside the house, no bin liners available either.’

‘Likes: The cottage is stunning. Very clean and organised with a large amount of beds and space. Kitchen was beautiful! I have to say that the outside area was perfect. A very lovely garden area with decking and lovely patio furniture, and of course…. a very nice Hot Tub. Faultless! The host was very accommodating and helpful and we had no issues whatsoever. There were loads of useful notes around to ensure we didn’t get caught out (switching on lights/hearing etc and doing the rubbish and recycling which I wouldn’t have known about otherwise). The area is to die for! The cottage is situated at the bottom of the Moelwyn mountain range and is also at the foot of a well known cycling climb ‘Stwlan Dam’ which I HAD to do whilst there. A perfect place to stay for a peaceful rest in a beautiful area OR for hill walkers/cyclists etc. Close to big towns (Porthmadog not far and Llandudno etc within an hour away). I will be back staying here again, thank you so much Mel for providing an amazing place for a stay. Mark Dislikes: Nothing to dislike at all!’

‘Lovely semi detached cottage style house in a beautiful little village. Ideal for a few friends staying for a couple of nights. The host was very thoughtful and left bubbles and chocolates for our arrival. As a little note, I would say this isn't ideal for groups walkers as there is only one shower so the queue after a hard day's hike wasn't ideal. But if you're planning a trip to a quiet remote area and don't plan on getting muddy cold and wet then you are grand! Thanks for the lovely stay.’

Since the photos were taken of the property it appears to have had a tough life from unruly guests. Everything still works but it’s a shame people behave like this. It didn’t take away from our stay but the pricing is top shelf so you’d expect it to be in tip top condition. ‘AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE! We had travelled 3.5 hours from leeds to wales and whilst we were 10 minutes away from the airbnb appartment the owner cancelled our booking without giving any reason. We rang airbnb and they informed that they couldn't get hold of the owner either and they cant do anything about this booking. We were just led astray without a place to stay on our arrival to wales. We had booked this apartment 1 month before our travel to celebrate our friends birthday and it turned out to be one of the worst days of our lives. The communication from the owner had been really poor from the start but everything was confirmed in advance. So on the day of the booking when the booking was cancelled we were all just shocked and felt helpless as we did not have anywhere to sleep and we were just parked on the street desperately looking for another accommodation. The spirit of celebration was far gone and it came down to necessity of finding a place just to stay. We had booked our accommodation in snowdonia as we had activities booked in snowdonia and also planned to climb mount snowden. However we couldn't find any alternative accommodation on the spot around snowdonia. The closest accommodation we found was a 3 hours drive from there which was not under the local lockdown rules. So all in all it was a disaster!. Please avoid yourself this trouble and don't book this place or any place managed by travel nest. They have absolutely no consideration customers especially in the middle of the pandemic!’

‘Our stay at this cottage was great; it was clean, warm and the owner had kindly left a box of chocolates and a bottle of prosecco and had pre- heated the hot tub for our arrival. The kitchen has all appliances and pots/pans/cutlery etc etc that you need, the living room was much bigger than expected with Sky tv and surround sound. The garden was nice and was complimented by the decking area with furniture and the hot tub. Upstairs were 3 bedrooms and a bathroom- all nice and clean, and plenty of wardrobe space. The matress in the twin room was quite hard but still had a good nights sleep. The heating was lovely and warm with metal radiators so the cottage felt really cozy and comfortable; it was too hot at night but was easy to switch on and off with a simple switch. The owner sent very useful directions including pictures; the sat nav took us to a few yards down the road, and as the roads are quite narrow it was a blessing to have the images which helped us find the cottage straight away. There were plenty of instructions for the cottage on an email prior to arrival and in the cottage. Little tip though, re- heat the hot tub in the morning if you want to use it later in the day/evening. Overall we thoroughly enoyed the stay and would go back and definitely recommend:-)’

‘Terrible experience with this host, after hours climbing Snowdon in the rain got there soaking wet and realised there was someone else there as they’ve double booked the place! called the host and the only thing he said was “i don’t know” without even an apology, so unprofessional. We had to drive back home 4 hours away, totally ruined our trip!’

‘Amazing location if you enjoy nice walks. We were genuinely gobsmacked at the surroundings. Communication and check in was brilliant. If your car has low ground clearance, be careful!’

‘Cottage situated in a beautiful spot close to plenty of beaches and mountains to climb. Also very close to zip world. We enjoyed the hot tub every day which was great for socialising. The cottage Could have been cleaner and there was only 1 double available when 2 doubles were advertised which we only found out 10 days before our stay.’
