‘This is our second stay here as we love these 2 barns. swifts and swallow barns run by Laurie and Russell. The barns are in a lovely peaceful location but opposite a working farm and close to plenty of shops and supermarkets. The barns are both 3 bedrooms all ensuites. and extremely well equipped. We highly recommend. If ever we visit devon we will always check availability on these first. these barns are exactly what holiday accommodation should be, home from home. thanks again for another fantastic stay’

‘Myself, a friend and her mother stayed for 3 days in May 2017. Fantastic views in every direction. The 3 bedrooms are downstairs, beds very comfortable and good sized rooms. The kitchen/diner is on a half level and the lounge/living room up another half level. All the amenities you could want, large, comfortable rooms. We have already recommended this property to several people as a wonderful place to stay. We had a couple of minor problems during our stay, which were attended to very quickly. All in all a really nice stay.’

‘Fantastic cottage. Well laid out, with plenty of room. The views are amazing and breathtaking. The owners have put a lot of thought into the accommodation, which is very comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. If you want a peaceful stay with lakeside views then this cottage is a must. It is reasonably priced for the size and location. Out in the country, but close to Pooley Bridge and a short drive to Keswick.’

‘Swallows Barn is the perfect place for quietness and solitude and a centre for exploring the intimacy of the Derbyshire Dales, Millers Dale in particular, and then returning to a warm cosy cottage with a wood-burning stove. It was also a pleasure to be among farm animals in the adjacent fields. Walking back from the Red Lion in Litton at night time was a treat, especially given the clear night sky.’

Set on a working farm and seeing the cows go past for milking every morning and the various wild birds on the tree feeders in the garden made it a perfect setting.
