Rockport Beach
Ride the wave at Texas' Rockport Beach. Rockport was the state's first Blue Wave Beach and is immaculately clean, surrounded by verdant landscapes and beautiful views. It's also well stocked with every concievable kind of watersport equipment, so your whole family or travelling party can easily entertain themselves.
Goose Island State Park
Among other activities, try out geocaching at Goose Island State Park. This contemporary version of a treasure hunt, created by an international community, involves uncovering hidden items that range from small (a film canister) to large (a lunch box, for example). Many are camouflaged rather than buried and contain things like a log book where you can sign your name.
Aquarium at Rockport Harbor
This aquarium is pet-friendly, meaning you can bring your leashed pup along to meet the sea creatures that swim and float through its tanks. There are 22 tanks in all, ranging from 20 to 1200 gallons. The vast majority of the fish are native to Texas, so after your visit, you can even discover them in the wild.
Fulton Mansion State Historic Site
Overlooking Aransas Bay, this incredible mansion was built in 1877 and was a family home for many years before being added to America's National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Visitors can learn about the history of the house and its striking architecture on fascinating guided tours.
Rockport Art Centre
Rockport Art Festival on the Fourth of July is just one reason why thousands visit this engaging art centre every year. Its Film festivals attract legions of fans, while the sculpture garden is a summertime hit. A series of well-curated, rotating exhibitions let you interact in a variety of ways with the centre.
