Holiday cottages in the Highlands attract culture vultures keen for some authentic Scottish atmosphere and a wee dram of Scotch whiskey. They also draw adrenaline junkies, Fort William has been called the "outdoor capital of Great Britain". If there was a place to try Munro-bagging, this is it.
The old, tiny house is located in a very quiet area, surrounded by woods, meadows and fields. A perfect escape from it all. At the same time, the house is easily accessible by public roads with little traffic. The house is very clean and well-kept. Equipment seems quite new and of decent quality. Hot water and heating were OK. Limited space and small windows (typical for ancient Scottish lodges) can be a backdraw for those who prefer spacious houses, but it may be an advantage for those who enjoy original architercure and old-school tourism. Great place to stay for a few days!
